Guess who got to meet the infamous Marianne Walker yesterday and spend a whole day with her learning all the fabulous ways to use Copic markers?? I did, I did!! I had soooo much fun yesterday getting my Copic certification and spending a day with all my fellow papercrafters...I learned so much that my head is spinning lol...If you ever have the chance to take this class, then you definitely should!! It was absolutely amazing and well worth the money!! Hopefully I will put all this good knowledge to use in the next couple of days and produce some wonderfully colored cards to share!! I hope that everyone has a safe and happy Mardi Gras!! Happy Fat Tuesday!! Thanks for stopping by!!

S2G News and a Challenge
For part one of my post today I thought I would share with you a gift bag that I made using some new Shirley's 2 Girls stamps...The template for the bag was a challenge given to all the "Ladies with Attitude" to play and experiment with...For this challenge, I decided to use the new stamp set "Cream in my Latte" available right now from Shirley's 2 Girls...Go and check it out, they have some super cute stamps and are adding ribbon and paper to their collection daily!!! I stamped the main image and colored it in using various copic markers, popped it up using foam tape and framed it out using my nestabilities and cuttlebug...I used my Stampin up slot punch and added some brown and white polka dot ribbon to complete this tag for the outside of the bag...I also used my Top Note die to cut out a small piece for the top of the bag...For the base of the gift bag I used a neutral color paper that matched my image and stamped a flourish pattern half-harzardly all over the paper using Chocolate chip ink...No project is complete without some sort of bling, so I added some crystal rhinestones to the gift bag and tag itself...This template was a lot of fun to play with and I am thinking about adding a Starbucks gift card and some Coffee to it for a sweet little gift... Scroll down for part two of this post...
Part II:
Part two of my post today is about a challenge that Shirley's 2 Girls issued on their blog called the "Green Challenge"...Make sure you take a minute to check it out!! This is their first challenge and they are offering up a great PRIZE!!..Here are all the details:
They are supplying you with a template for a small button box...7 1/2"w x 8"h (here is a link for the box)...All you have to do is come up with an idea that embraces...GREEN...GREEN can be anything from the environment, to the color, to St. Paddy's Day, to the renewing and rebirth that Spring brings us...This small box could hold, candy, seeds, mini-hearts, shamrocks, a special gift card, or even money...They want you to dig deep and use your imagination to come up with something really unique and GREEN...Naturally, they would love you to use their stamps, but because they are so new, and not everyone has had a chance to buy one of their stamps...you can use any stamp you already have...The deadline for submitting the pieces is...2/22. at 2:00p.m.(pst). They will post the finished pieces on their GALLERY page and on SCS...The top 3 designs that really 'embrace' the GREEN theme will receive a $22.00 credit with S2G...and of course be featured in their BLOG and possibly win a chance at being a Guest Designer....Ready...Set...GO GREEN! Nap Time!!
Today I thought that I would share with you a card that I made using a new Shirley's 2 Girls stamp called "Dog in Chair"...Doesn't this sweet pup look so comfy in that oversized chair!! LOL...Right when I saw this image, I knew that I wanted to use my new "Doggie Sayings" DP that I picked up at Joanns craft store...I loved the colors used in this paper, so I decided to use them as my color scheme...For the main image, I paper pieced the background of the stamp using some maroon cardstock and colored in the rest of the image using various copic markers...I also added a little bit of bling to the chair by adding some baby blue rhinestones and glitter from my atyou spica glitter marker...I distressed all the edges using a sponge and some distress ink and popped this all up using some foam mouting tape...I just love love love Stampin up's big brads...I decided to use three of them on this card and add some funky fibers to give this card some dimension... For the inside of the card, I used them same DP and stamped the sentiment "never, never, never pass up... a good place for a nap"...Ohh how true these words are!! Please check out what the other Ladies with Attitude are up to...they are making some fabulous cards!! Also check out the Shirleys 2 Girls blog and participate in their new "green" challenge...Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!!
